Washers & Dryers
Your dryer isn't getting hot anymore. Neither, frankly, is anything else in the house. Jake handles one of those professionally and the other one as a courtesy.
Appliance, Heating & A/C Repair • Hastings, NE & the Tri-Cities
Washers. Dryers. Fridges. Furnaces. Air conditioners. And the quiet resentment that builds when somebody says he'll "take a look at it here pretty soon." Jake comes to you. Jake takes care of it. Jake is gone before supper.
What Jake Fixes
Your dryer isn't getting hot anymore. Neither, frankly, is anything else in the house. Jake handles one of those professionally and the other one as a courtesy.
Is your fridge making a sound? Is it the compressor, or is it the silence at dinner? Jake diagnoses both. One needs a part. The other needs about forty-five uninterrupted minutes.
It isn't loading itself. Neither is he. Jake will fix the pump, show you the correct rack layout, and leave a laminated diagram on the fridge for whoever else lives here.
Jake will replace the igniter, preheat the oven, and tell you the cheesy potatoes look incredible. Because it does. Nobody else says it. Jake says it.
Jake will retrieve the ring. Jake will not ask why it was in there. Jake will not ask whose it was. Jake will say "welp" and hand it back. Jake is here for the disposal.
Ice cold. Like the way you said "fine" when he asked what was wrong. Jake will have things wet and rattling again within the hour. Cubes. He means cubes.
It's 98 out, the corn is sweating, and the A/C just quit. You're hot, you're bothered, and you've started saying things you don't mean to the ceiling fan. Jake will have cold air moving within the hour. He's very good with hot and bothered.
It's January, it's eleven below, and the furnace is blowing cold. So is he, frankly. Jake swaps the igniter, gets her lit, and leaves the whole house warm. He can't do anything about your husband's side of the bed.
You say 72. He says 68. The thermostat says "low battery" and has been lying to both of you since March. Jake installs one that works, programs it, and quietly tells you that you're right. You are. It's 72.
24-Hour Emergency Extraction Line
It happens. You were reaching for a sock. One thing led to another. Now you're in there up to the hips, your husband's at Memorial Stadium until at least the fourth quarter, and you're not one to make a fuss. Call Jake. He knows exactly what to do.
The Jake Method™
Describe the noise. Use words like "grinding," "thunk," or "kind of a whimper." Jake speaks all of them.
In a clean shirt. With shoe covers. He'll say "ope, lemme just sneak right past ya" on the way to the laundry room, and you will feel things about it that you'll have to sort out later.
To the appliance. And to you. He will nod at the right moments. He will say "no, that's a completely reasonable thing to be upset about."
Every time. No exceptions. Then he slaps his knees, says "welp, I s'pose," and is out the door within forty-five minutes of saying it. Around here, that's a clean exit.
Complimentary With Every Repair
Jake noticed early on that the dryer is rarely the only thing in the house that hasn't been properly serviced since the Osborne years. So he added a few packages. No extra charge. No extra questions.
*Jake services appliances. Jake is not a therapist, a lawyer, or your husband. Any resemblance to other kinds of servicing is between you, Jake, and whoever keeps unplugging the dryer.
Real Reviews. Real Kitchens. Real Garages.
Swipe. Then flip it over and read what the other one said.

Same time every week. Something will be broken. Something always is. Conveniently overlaps with your husband's bowling league, which Jake did not know about and is not curious about.
Jake fixes the wine fridge while your entire book club watches him do it. He does not dance. He has been asked. He bends down to check the compressor exactly once.
Free second opinion on whatever your husband did to it. Jake will say "oh no" very quietly, then fix it. He will not tell Greg.
The Part That's Not A Joke
Started out delivering and installing appliances in 2013. Been diagnosing and repairing them full time since 2018. He has carried your exact fridge up a flight of stairs.
Certified in appliance diagnostics and repair, with refrigeration, at Fred's Appliance Academy. It's a real school. People fly in for it.
Certified to handle refrigerant on sealed systems (Type I). Refrigerators, freezers and ice makers are his specialty. The beer fridge is in good hands.
Ran a repair shop floor and built the training program for its new technicians. Jake University is a joke. The teaching part isn't.
Frequently Asked Questions
Whenever you have a broken appliance and somebody in the house who isn't fixing it. So, statistically, now.
Yes. Jake services all major brands, plus whatever your brother-in-law installed "as a favor."
Great. Text Jake when that's over.
Somebody needs to let Jake in. Jake is not particular about who. Jake is, frankly, most efficient when it's just Jake and the appliance and one person who has already made coffee.
Jake is a certified appliance repair technician. His relationship status is not covered under the parts warranty.
Hastings, Juniata, Kenesaw, Blue Hill, Doniphan, Grand Island, Kearney if you ask nicely, and any house in Adams County where the dishwasher is "making that noise again." Directions like "past where the Kmart used to be, then left at the Petersons' old place" are fine. Jake knows where the Petersons' old place is.
Jake doesn't ask those kinds of questions. That is the entire point of Jake.
Her washer. Her dryer. Her dishwasher. Her range. Whatever of hers has gone the longest without attention. Jake is an appliance technician with a very dirty-sounding job description, and he has made his peace with that.
Yes, and this one's not a bit. Air conditioners, furnaces, and thermostats, same van, same Jake. If it heats, cools, washes, dries, or keeps the beer cold, call him.
No. Jake repairs appliances. Jake does not clean, dust, vacuum, or do windows. Jake will, however, pull your fridge out, see what's been living back there since 2009, say absolutely nothing, push it back, and respect you exactly the same.
You're going to send him home with leftovers in a Cool Whip container whether we say yes or no. He brings the container back. Washed. That's how you know.
Ma'am, there is water coming through the ceiling. It's okay to be a bother. Jake has never once met a bother in this entire state, and he's been looking.
1927. Edwin Perkins. Look it up. Jake has personally replaced three fridge water valves gummed solid with the stuff. Do not run Kool-Aid through your door dispenser. Yes, even cherry. He's not going to ask whose idea it was.
Not during a Husker game. Your husband won't be home either, though, so honestly it's the best time to get stuck in something.
The appliance repair is serious. Jake is genuinely very good. Everything else is a joke. Mostly.
Book a House Call
Nothing actually broken? No problem.
"The dryer's making a noise. No, I can't describe it. You'd have to come hear it. In person."
Put the coffee on. Jake will take a look at the coffee maker too.
Did Jake Go Above And Beyond?
He'd never bring it up. He'd just say "oh, you don't have to do that," twice, the way his mother raised him, and then take it on the third offer like a normal person. Skip the dance. Scan the code.
Tips are real money and go straight to Jake. They are appreciated, never expected, and do not count as the Cool Whip container of leftovers, which he is still getting.
